Old Movies
The old Odeon building again - the five metal frames that housed the five letters of the sign are still on the side of the building, rusting away.

Pot Noodle
Where to start? What can you say about a foodstuff where, after it's reconstitued with boiling water, most of the flavour comes from the slight melting of the plastic cup the noodles are soaking in?

NEG
It seems to switch allegiance every two weeks or so - it's currently an official SEAT garage, but next week, who knows?

Middle of the Road
An empty New Elvet in Durham, on the day of the Miners' Gala. Crossprocessed Agfa CT Precisa.

Pedestrian Zone
It's supposed to be a pedestrian zone near the University campus, but I've been nearly run over twice walking through it in the past fortnight.

Ice Creams
Ice cream vans always seem to come out well on toy cameras - something to do with being evocative and symbolic of childhood, maybe.

Smokey Joe
The last time I went in this shop - I don't know if it's a pawn brokers, but it's the same kind of thing - and it ended badly. They were clearly totally bonkers. I was looking for a VHS player with s-video connectors, and they tried to overcharge me by about 150% for one that clearly didn't have any. They then got really aggressive when I didn't want to pay them. Which is a bit annoying as they have some really nice medium format cameras in the window now.
After being inspired by some of the writing I've seen on a few blogs recently, I'm mulling over something new for Espion Daily. I'll try it out and build up a bit of a reserve to see how it works, but I think it might work. It's may not be 'serial' enough to keep people interested, but it'll be more interesting than describing the photos, I hope.

Another Long Wait on Pilgrim Street
Near the old, abandoned Odeon building and the ever changing, independent Tyneside Cinema... perhaps someday the Tyneside will grow organically over the bus lanes and breathe new life back into that derelict building.

Dress
Durham Miners' Gala, 2006. I saw her from some distance away, not because she was dressed differently from the other women her age, but because she moved in contrast to the chaos around her - effortlessly and with obvious purpose - down the bank in a crescent shape and finished in the exact place I knew she would stop at in the frame.

Permit Holders Only
Can't remember where this was, but probably Saltwell park. I still have a roll of film I shot on my Holga there, but I've no idea where it is. On that roll is a shot of a fight between two swans that I caught closer up than was probably advisable, and it may well make for a good set if I ever find out what I did with it.

Gates
In Ponteland - as I took this, a car drove past and someone shouted 'fucker' out of the window at me. Adoring fans, eh? :)

7
I have to do a number check on my espion pics to see how many numbers there are - after almost 500 you'd think there would be a few.

Tag
There's some less-crap-than-average graffiti round here, and some stickers. Not good enough to photograph properly, but not totally awful either...

Paramedic
There's always weird stuff going on down Warwick Street - I think this was accompanying a police raid.

Between the Trees
The sculpture outside of Northumbria University (again, but from a different angle)

Kodak Vericolor on an Holga - light leak courtesy of me not sealing the film tightly enough... it looks OK here, but some of the other shots didn't fare so well...

Pharaoh
Supposedly, the previous occupant of my flat used to feed Pharaoh salmon, which might explain the unusually keen interest in me.

Pilgrim Street Advertisements
My musing over the future of my espion blog comes down to this: I have to put some time in to doing the things I've been meaning to do with it for a long time. Number one - add some people to the blogroll - hardly a gruelling job.
