Sleuth
Updates to Flickr and Espion Daily are likely to be sporadic over the next week or so, as I'm moving house and moving office at the same time, so access from work and home will be disrupted. Still, BT connected the phone line in my new flat in under three hours, so hopefully I won't be without a connection for too long.

Little Theatre
Although I've lived in Newcastle for years, I'd never been to Saltwell Park before until a couple of weeks ago. I took the Holga and got some shots I hope will come out well, although I'm waiting until next month to get them developed. An added bonus was finding this place.

Inspiring New Theatre
The Newcastle Playhouse Theatre, currently closed for renovation. The last thing I saw there was a David Mamet (one of the writers I most admire, with Michel Houellebecq, William S. Burroughs, I could go on pretty much indefinitely here) play a couple of years ago. The Playhouse also used to be a great place for lunch, or a coffee after work.

Moving Along
An Audi TT passing near the campus of the University of Northumbria. I like the light on the building on the right - I took this some time ago and it took me a while to realise it was Newcastle and not Edinburgh.

Rain Clouds
They've been collecting all day. We haven't had much rain for a while, which is pretty unusual for Newcastle any time of year, but especially this time of year. I think sales of umbrellas are going to increase in February.

Coke
I had a trawl through the archives of unposted stuff - this one caught my eye. Not too keen on Coca-Cola, personally.

Nissan
Newcastle's Nissan garage is currently running a promotion called 'pay what you say', which I suspect has one or two paragraphs of fine print to it.

Elbow
One of three figures in Sean Henry's 'Man with Potential Selves', near the Central Station in Newcastle. On an art theme: Steve Pippin is an artist who previously worked with photography and converted the washing machines in a laundromat to cameras. He was a Turner Prize nominee in 99 and probably provided the inspiration for Punctum's caravan camera. I've mentioned him before at flickrmeets and thought those that hadn't heard of him before might be interested:

Propose
Part of a Liberal Democrat campaign poster from the last general election. Posted before it gets any less topical.
Q. Why is Charles Kennedy like Julius Caesar?
A. They were both stabbed in the back by men in sandals.
Shamelessly nicked from BBC Radio 5.

No Smoking
This January marks a year off the evil weed. Apart from one or two indiscretions, usually after one drink too many. Espion Daily's one year anniversary is later in the month.

Daysh Building
Named after a Professor of Geography. If Professor Daysh had taught architecture he might have considered the naming of the building a backhanded compliment - it's a very strangely laid out building. And pretty ugly from the outside too.
