I forget what this building was - one of the bibliotheques nationale, maybe. Somewhere in the Latin Quarter? Note to self: write these details down when taking photo...

Musee de la Mode
Three huge painted panels at the back of the Musee de la Mode et du Textiles, facing on to Avenue du President Wilson.

Menageries
The Jardin des Plantes, Paris' botanical gardens. Nearby, wallabies and black swans were wandering around - a strange combination.

Seule Religion
"Consumerism - the Only Religion"
Stencil graffiti (with flaming shopping trolley) on a pavement in the Quartier Latin.

Tour Eiffel II
So, after a relatively short but pretty intensive exploration of Paris, I have hundreds of photos and some great discoveries I'll be sharing on Flickr over the next few weeks. And by discoveries, I don't mean stuff that's photographed slightly less often than the Eiffel Tower...

Tour Eiffel I
The reason I haven't posted to Espion Daily for a while is that I've been on holiday for a few days. But I took the espion on tour.

Northumberland St
Northumberland St, the main shopping thoroughfare in Newcastle. Always packed on a Saturday.
Espion Daily will be taking a break for a couple of days. I'll back fill the photos, of course, I just won't be around to post entries for Thursday and Friday.

Woodland Box
A storage box for leaflets at the start of one of the walking routes through Allen Banks in Northumberland.

Scaffolding
The flickrwall alley is underneath the right hand third of the scaffolding - the building being renovated (if that's what's happening) is an old guitar shop.
20050821
Rail
Keeping up the metal rail theme from yesterday - a crash barrier near the Haymarket metro stop and the University of Newcastle.
20050820
Angles
A battered metal railing not far from Manors metro station.
I've just upgraded my phone so I can send MMS direct to my Flickr photostream. So junking up the flickrsphere with my stuff will be possible even when I'm not near a computer.

Territory
A bird - a chaffinch, I think - staking out its territory near Chollerton in Northumberland.

WM6414
The railway station at Wylam in Northumberland. The best thing about this station is the pub next to it, which has a great range of real ales (it's won CAMRA's pub of the year more than once.)

Leazes Park
One of the statues near the Richardson Road end of Leazes Park. Unless my memory / sense of direction is wrong.
I'm considering a major redesign of the site, when I have time to do it. It may just extend to switching the text from white on black to something more readable, or I may switch from Blogger... much research* to do.

Sunderland
The campus of Sunderland University, alongside the river; there are a few art installations along there (one or two of which I have photos of and will post next week.)

Beach Foot
Back to the beach in Alnmouth (not my foot.) Thought I would post this before summer becomes a very distant memory and we're stuck with the freezing temperatures, howling wind and constant rain that typifies the weather in Newcastle for what seems like most of the year.

Cone Zone
Traffic cones by a fence in Northumberland.
It would be the perfect alien invasion plan - if they disguised themselves as traffic cones, they could take over the entire UK before anyone noticed.

On a Train
Rows of seats in a train carriage.
I've been so busy lately that it's been hard to get new photos for Espion Daily - I still have a good sized reserve, but it needs a little reinforcement.

Fly
A tasty snack for my venus fly trap, which I'm hoping won't meet the same terrible fate as nearly every other plant I've tried to look after. According to various websites, a top care tip is 'don't feed it hamburger.'

Party
Someone was having an 18th birthday party in Alnmouth - these flyers were taped to every lamppost in town.
20050810
Terrace
As grim as they often look on overcast and rainy days, I much prefer these long, clear terraced streets to those newer identikit suburban developments where everything looks the same.

Airport
An easyjet plane at Newcastle airport. I travel to London fairly often on research trips or for family events - it's usually most convenient and cost-efficient to travel by air, especially as GNER Newcastle to London trains are often ludicrously over-priced (although significantly less tattered and dirty than they were a few years ago.)

Green
A small beetle on a leaf in a garden in Buckinghamshire - apologies for the lack of identification; Google didn't come up with anything useful.
If someone on Flickr comes up with a good suggestion or two, I'll update here.

Bikes

Big Wheel
On my very brief trip down to the Tall Ships on Newcastle's Quayside, the only shot I managed to get was this one - the ships themselves were moored and nothing much was happening.
Strangely enough, I realised that I'd been on this particular wheel before - when it was in Paris in 2000.

Chalk Words
As I was walking past the campus of Sunderland University one day last month, a group of artists were drawing messages in chalk on the paving stones alongside the river.
Could be an extended period of downtime on the way - I think one of the fans on my ancient computer is about to fail. Fingers crossed it doesn't.
